Why Salubre Care

Through many years of clinical practice, Dr. Benson has observed that there is a tremendous need for substance dependence treatment. This inspired Dr. Benson to pursue additional training in the specialty of substance use disorders and treatment and to open a clinic in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His goals are to offer medication assisted treatment of substance use disorders and alleviate symptoms of detoxification, reduce cravings, while identifying and treating underlying emotional health issues that could cause relapse. Salubre Care offers treatment utilizing variety of treatment options, including: buprenorphine (Suboxone®, Zubsolv®, Subutex®, Sublocade®), naltrexone (Vivitrol®), disulfiram (Antabuse®), acamprosate (Cameral®), topiramate, bupropion (Zyban®), varenicline (Chantix®).  Though we do not initiate Methadone treatment, we do help patients transition to other medications that are more conducive to maintaining employment and other life commitments.  At SalubreCare, we work to help our patients rebuild relationships with friends, family, coworkers and neighbors. Substance abuse is caused by both mental and physical underlying health ailments and manifests itself in the mental and physical aspects of health. Drug addiction treatment has long focused on managing the symptoms of addiction without understanding each person’s core cause for addictive behavior. Salubre Care provides a new paradigm for addiction treatment and offers many options for your success.

At Salubre Care we endeavor to save lives. We provide a caring environment for individuals struggling with substance use disorder (addiction) to receive a variety of therapeutic interventions. With compassion and respect, we provide accountability and support, bolstered by individual and group counseling in addition to medication-assisted treatment. We address the root causes, such as trauma or underlying mental health issues that may have led to the development of a substance use disorder. We infuse hope into the darkness of addiction.
