Brian Benson, MD, PhD
Medical Director
Dr. Benson, first obtained a doctorate in biochemistry before achieving his medical degree. As a family physician, his knowledge of behavioral and mental health led him to pursue additional training to treat chronic disease and substance disorders. His mentor, Dr. Julie Kmiec, an addiction psychiatrist, provided a wealth of knowledge on how to help patients maintain sobriety through available pharmacotherapies. To his patients, Dr. Benson is one who truly cares; doing more than writing prescriptions. Dr. Benson takes time to understand the patient as an individual, to better address the root causes of the illness.
